Microblading Aftercare

Skincare after microblading Taking care of the area of skin where microblading took place is similar to tattoo care, if a bit more intensive. The pigment immediately following the procedure will appear quite dark, and the skin underneath will be red. You should run a dry cotton swab that has been dipped in sterilized water over the area. This will get rid of any excess pigment & lymphatic liquid that’s on your brows. It will also keep the area sterile. It will take anywhere from 7-14 days for the skin to begin to appear healed and for the pigment to fade to its regular shade.

Follow these steps to properly take care of your skin after microblading:

  • Avoid getting the area wet for up to 10 days, which includes keeping your face dry during a shower.

  • Don’t wear makeup for at least a week. This is because the pigments are still settling in to the shallow cuts in your skin caused by the blading.

  • Don’t pick at scabs, tug, or itch the eyebrow area.

  • Avoid saunas, swimming, and excessive sweating until the area is completely healed and you have a follow-up appointment.

  • Keep your hair away from your brow line.

  • Apply healing balm provided by your technician as directed.

Maintenance tips After your skin is fully healed, you’ll want to protect your microblading investment by taking care of your skin. Applying a sunscreen (SPF50) to the microbladed area may help prevent fading. Fading may occur at a faster rate than brow tattooing due to the smaller amount of pigment used. Two years after your initial procedure, you’ll most likely have to repeat the procedure in its entirety.

Powder Brows Aftercare What are the Basic Rules of Powder Brows Aftercare? Even though the rules are very strict, they are not hard to follow. The most important advice you need to remember is to leave your powder brows alone.

  • don’t touch, scratch or rub them

  • don’t wear makeup

  • don’t pick scabs

  • don’t sleep on your face

  • avoid physical activity, house chores, sweating and dust

  • avoid saunas and swimming pools as well as long showers

  • avoid sun exposure and tanning

  • avoid having facial treatment until the brows are completely healed.

How Do I Clean My Eyebrows? When it comes to cleaning your ombre powder brows, it is best to clean the area with a wet cotton pad, to remove the extra lymph. Then dry it gently, with a clean tissue. Apply a thin layer of balm and be careful not to clog the pores. Ombre Powder Brows Aftercare – Day by Day Overview Day 1 The treated area is sensitive and a little bit swollen. The pigment is too intense and there is some redness. The area is prone to infections since the wound is fresh. Therefore, keep it clean, don’t sweat, don’t touch it. The healing process starts right after the treatment. Day 2-4 Wash your brows carefully as advised. Make sure your hands are clean. If advised, apply a thin layer of ointment with a q-tip. Don’t use too much ointment because your pores need to breathe. Days 5-7 The scabbing stage starts. Be extra careful during this period. Remove extra lymph with a clean tissue and apply ointment if advised. The ointment can be helpful during the scabbing stage because it softens the scabs. Under no circumstances should you pick the scabs or peel them off. You can ruin your powder brows that way. Days 10-14 The aftercare period is almost over. You can stop using the ointment when all the scabs fall off. Your eyebrows are probably light and patchy, but don’t worry. The colour will return and the patches will be filled in at the first touch up. You can slowly return to your normal routine and even start wearing makeup. Still, be careful not to use the products that contain exfoliates. How Long After the Powder Brows Treatment Can I Wash My Face? You can wash it the very same day, but don’t be aggressive. Don’t wash over the brows. The best way to do it is to clean it with a cotton pad and some water, avoiding the treated area. After day 10, you can wash your face the way you always do it. Am I Allowed to Shower After the Appointment? Yes, of course, but make it quick. Steam is not a friend of freshly done eyebrows, so don’t shower for longer than 5 minutes. How Do I Maintain My Powder Brows Once They are Healed? Regular touch ups will prolong your powder brows’ life expectancy. Book a touch up appointment as soon as you notice they started fading. If you do it regularly, your powder brows can last up to 4 years. Some people might notice that their powder brows fade faster than other people’s. That is perfectly normal. The speed of fading depends on your skin type , how you take care of your skin and lifestyle . Apply SPF +50 in abundance on your eyebrows when you go outside .

LVL Lashes Aftercare

LVL lashes aftercare help and guidance for after your treatment:

  • For the first 24 hours after your Lash Lift, do not use mascara and do not allow water to come in to contact with your lashes. Carefully wash around your eyes and avoid hot water. Try not to sleep on your face as this can crush the lashes whilst they are setting over the first day

  • For 48 hours after your Lash Lift, avoid hot water, steam or sweat (eg. Saunas, facial steamers, excessive work-outs, swimming, very hot steamy showers). Look out for opening a hot oven door too, as hot steam can come rushing out

  • Use a lash nourishing serum/conditioner daily

  • Always brush lashes upwards regularly to help maintain lift and shape, especially after sleeping, cleansing the face and applying moisturisers or cosmetics

  • Be gentle, don’t scrub your eyes when washing your face

  • Do not use eyelash curlers, as lashes will be delicate after treatment, and could cause breakage

  • If wearing mascara, use water-based mascara, not a waterproof one

  • Use any oil-free make-up remover if mascara is worn, we recommend the LVL oil-free make-up remover (available in-salon and online)

How long will my LVL Lashes last? Following LVL lashes aftercare, your lash lift should usually last between 6-8 weeks (dependant on individual lash growth cycles), we think this treatment is excellent value for money. It is a very low maintenance procedure compared to eyelash extensions, and it is non-damaging to natural lashes, providing aftercare is followed. Remember, a lash lift procedure is very similar to a hair perm, and as such the hair must be kept well-nourished (you can apply moisturiser or Vaseline on them after 1-2 weeks ) and treated delicately to avoid breakage/weakening.

Brows Lamination Aftercare

  • Keep eyebrows dry for 24 to 48 hours after the procedure.

  • Do not apply makeup to eyebrows for 24 hours after the procedure.

  • Avoid touching the brow area to prevent against transferring oils

  • Do not apply Retin-A, AHA (“alpha-hydroxy acids”), and do not exfoliate the brow area for at least 72 hours before or after the brow treatment.

  • Do not apply self-tanner, or receive spray tanning for at least 48 hours post-treatment.

  • Gently comb hairs back into place daily

Waxing Aftercare

Please follow the guidelines below to ensure your skin is cared for properly over the next few days. Please note: some slight soreness, small bumps and redness are common and perfectly normal temporary reactions, particularly if this is your first wax. These symptoms should subside over the next 24 - 48 hours. If you experience persistent redness or irritation, or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Keep the waxed area clean, and avoid heat and friction during the next 24 - 48 hours.

This means:

  • No hot baths or showers (cool to lukewarm water only).

  • No saunas, hot tubs, massage or steam treatments.

  • No tanning (sunbathing, sun beds or fake tans).

  • No sport, gym work or other exercise.

  • Avoid scratching or touching the treated area with unwashed

  • hands.

  • Wear clean, loose fitting clothes.

  • Avoid swimming in chlorinated pools.

  • Do not apply deodorants, body sprays, powders, lotions or

  • other products to the area, other than those recommended by

  • your therapist.

To soothe and protect the skin, apply an antiseptic cream to the waxed area regularly for 3 days following your treatment. Always wash your hands before applying any product.

To prevent ingrown hairs: starting a few days after your appointment and then continuing a couple of times every week, exfoliate the areas you get waxed using a dry brush or exfoliating mitt. Take the brush and just before you step into the bath or shower gently brush the area you get waxed whilst your skin and the brush is dry. After you’ve bathed/showered, apply some baby oil or E45 lotion to the waxed area. Moisturise every day to keep the skin supple and help new hairs to grow through normally. Don’t exfoliate too much or too rough as this can graze the skin and cause ingrown hairs. You may notice a small amount of re growth after a week or so. It can take up to 4 treatments for your hair to get on a growth cycle that gives best results.

You will need at least 3-4 weeks growth of hair before it can be successfully removed by waxing; Please do not shave between your appointments. To maintain your smooth appearance, I recommend regular waxing every 4-6 weeks
